BATH 100 OR 50 MILE CIRCULAR BIKE RIDE
Get into gear and ride to help save lives from leukaemia!
The Anthony Nolan Trust is looking for riders to sign up now and to get into gear to help to save lives from Leukaemia by taking part in their forthcoming big bike ride which starts and finishes in Bath. The Wessex Bike Ride - 100 or 50 miles event, which has been running successfully for 15 years starting and finishing in Salisbury, is now taking place from the Ralph Allen School,Claverton Down Road, Bath on Sunday 13th September.
With this brand new start & finish in Bath, both routes of this spectacular ride head south past the Lions of Longleat. The short 50 mile route passes the Westbury White Horse while the long 100 mile route continues along the beautiful Wylye Valley passing Salisbury Cathedral, before turning north to skirt Salisbury Plain and on through the Vale of Pewsey before tackling the legendary Brassknocker Hill, whereupon a hero’s welcome awaits at the finish line.
Both routes will be fully marshalled with regular refreshment stops along the way, first aid and pick up vehicles if you get into a spot of bother. Over the years, the charity has received much praise for the professional way in which the Wessex Bike Ride has been run, both on it’s safety, the fantastic scenery on route and for the special attention paid to the riders along the routes.
The Wessex Bike Ride routes have been carefully planned to give everyone a really good day out. Last years event was the largest cycling event, hosting over 600 riders and raising over £20,000 for The Anthony Nolan Trust. All the competitors have to do is telephone for an entry form and upon receipt of entry fee they will be sent a registration pack and sponsor form. The routes are challenging yet beautiful so that the competitors can raise sponsorship for their efforts. The money raised could quite literally save lives. Leukaemia can strike anyone at any time. The charity saves lives from leukaemia by managing the UK’s most successful bone marrow register recruiting new donors. Currently there are over 7,000 children and adults depending on this independent charity for a life-saving transplant”.
If you would like to ride to save a life please telephone:- 0845 460 1342 to register or apply on-line at
