results etc of various races lately at Castle Combe:
Wed 4th Aug Bath Amphibs Duathlon
report from Eric
Well done to all KIT crew who raced at Castle Combe Duathlon on Wednesday – there was a battle between Lee and I with me taking a few seconds off him on the 1st run then Lee catching me on the bike after 3 ½ laps and then me chasing him down for the last bit of the bike – we entered T2 together then I cramped up on the 2nd run and Lee took advantage of the situation and powered on – I was not going to let him get far and caught him on the back straight – and managing to pip him at the end. Congratulations to Lee for beating me on the bike and the run by 2 seconds; However, I caught him in T1 and T2 by 30’s – this shows the importance of the 4th discipline Transition! – Make sure you practice this in your training!!! Well done to Maggie – 1st Super Vet female, Rob and Phillipa – Thanks to Alex Hayes and Mike for their support –

A small turn out with Rich standing in for Eric (who had work commitments) doing a great job assisting Lee and Maggie did a great ride (hindered for a few laps by Philippa and Mike ,who both packed). And Aileen had a great ding dong with Sue Sidey.

The wind was in the opposite way from normal so it was a head wind into transition. Jill beat me (Philippa) on the first run, but then I overtook her in transition! - remember it's the 4th dscipline. Close between Aileen and Kes (on his taper??? for IM Canada) didn't see them afterwards to chat, but thanks to Jill for cheering me on in the other events.
1st NOT KIT 58.01 (15.35,31.40,13.37)
41st Kes 1.12.45 (20.47,37.05,13.37)
42nd Aileen 1.12.50 (19.58,39.00,12.44)
91st Philippa 1.31.22 (28.27,40.53,20.52)
97th Jill McNally 1.41.56 (27.43,53.13,18.58)
